She left without a word, because there was nothing to say.

Monday, January 10, 2011 § 2

The pain in her chest was unbearable.
Flames spreading across, consuming her lungs, ribs, heart.
A black hole, but hot like a magnifying glass reflecting the sun on her skin.
Her heart, gone, just like that.
No longer together, no longer present.
The realization only brought relief.
Relief, because if she had her heart, it would remind her of the boy.
The boy with the rough hands.
The hands that roamed everywhere.
The hands that struck her when she refused.
The hands that left a bruise on her neck.
A bruise that she will have to explain to her mother.
Yes, her heart gone is a good thing.

Signing off,
Sophia

§ 2 Response to “She left without a word, because there was nothing to say.”

  • Barry says:

This is painfully real, I felt every word as I read it.

One of your most powerful pieces so far Sophia. Your writing is maturing along with you.

    Very emotional, very well written.

  • You're writing is stunning, you should turn it into a book. I would love to have your words with a hard cover next to my bed, and read it over and over again.
